Understanding options first makes them less intimidating. moomoo gives new users a free book to learn how they work, plus other rewards for signing up.
What you get
The Options Playbook is moomoo’s physical beginner’s book. It explains options in plain language, so you can understand the basics before you trade. You collect it in store.
Here’s everything you get as a new user:
| What you do | What you get |
|---|---|
| Open an account | Free trading commissions (commission = the fee to buy or sell) — for life on US stocks & ETFs (an ETF is a basket of many stocks), 1 year on Singapore shares, 30 days on Hong Kong & China |
| Deposit S$1,500 | The Options Playbook (the physical book) |
| … or deposit S$3,000 (hold 30 days) | The Playbook, plus S$40 in trading cash coupons and S$40 of free NVIDIA shares — a S$20 share, plus an extra S$20 share exclusive to my channel |
| Make your first trade | A US$80 card that covers your trading commission, for 30 days |
| Place your first options trade | A S$10 cash coupon (if you’ve never traded options on moomoo) |
To be clear, that deposit is your own money, going into your own account — it’s not a fee for the book. It stays yours to invest, hold, or withdraw later.
The free NVIDIA shares are fractional — a small slice of one share, not a whole one. Their value moves with the market, and moomoo updates these rewards from time to time, so check moomoo’s current terms for what’s live when you join.
How to get it, step by step
Step 1 — Open a moomoo account. Sign up through my link, lobangsis.com/moomoo, and download the app.
Step 2 — Enter the code. In the app, search “Special Deposit” and enter LOBANGSIS1 before you add any money. This signs you up under my channel. You can do this step if you have already signed up for a moomoo account but never deposited before, to qualify for the rewards.

Step 3 — Add your deposit. Put in S$1,500 to unlock the book, or S$3,000 for 30 days if you also want the free NVIDIA shares.
Step 4 — Book your pickup. The Playbook is a physical book, so you collect it at a Moomoo store. You can pick a plain collection, or one where a moomoo team member sits down and walks you through it.
Already have a moomoo account? The app will show you your exact task (often just the deposit). The full details are in moomoo’s Playbook terms.
Is options trading scary? An honest answer
Short version: options can lose money, and some advanced strategies are genuinely risky. I won’t pretend otherwise. But two things are also true.
Learning costs you nothing. You can read the Playbook and practise in moomoo’s paper-trading mode — that’s trading with pretend money, so there’s no real risk while you learn.
You control how much you risk. You never have to trade something you don’t understand, and you only ever use money you can afford to lose. Don’t trade options just because there’s a sign-up reward attached — understand them first.
If you want to understand options, start with the book, learn the basics, and decide from there.
