- This is a unique feature of UOB, where they deduct UNI$ instead of charging an annual fee on your card’s anniversary. Since the UNI$ are hidden in the Rewards tab, many cardholders might overlook it. I explained this in detail in a TikTok video, so be sure to follow the steps mentioned there to secure your fee waiver!

Any Hacks/Promos:
Pair with the UOB ONE Account when you spend S$500 on this card and credit your salary through GIRO, you earn extra interest on your savings. However, I do feel that UOB One is an easier card to use for good cashback + pairing with UOB One Account.
- If you want to get the most out of your savings, the UOB One Account is an excellent choice for balances up to $150,000. With its attractive interest rates, it’s a great option for those looking to grow their funds effectively.
- To see how the UOB One Account compares with other popular accounts, such as the OCBC 360 Account, take a look at my detailed analysis here: Which is the Highest Interest Savings Account?. This guide will help you decide which account best suits your financial needs.
Is it Worth it:
- High miles per dollar earned on chosen category
- Cannot use this card as a one card strategy due to the limitations of ONE or TWO category
- Limited to selected categories – may be difficult to use
Past Buffs/Nerfs:
Buffs:
- Previously, UOB credit cards excluded UOB$ merchants from earning regular card rewards, meaning customers could only earn UOB$ (often lower value) instead of cashback or miles. However, effective 01 November 2024, UOB credit cardholders can now earn both UOB$ and their usual credit card rewards (like cashback or miles) when shopping at UOB$ merchants. UOB$ merchants are retailers that offer cashback (UOB$) to customers, which can be used on future purchases at the same store. With the new change, UOB cardholders can now stack both UOB$ and credit card rewards, making it more rewarding to shop at UOB$ merchants.
- This change applies to UNI$-earning cards (like UOB Preferred Platinum Visa or UOB Lady’s card), and even UOB EVOL cards will earn their cashback on top of UOB$. The UOB One card already allowed rewards at UOB$ merchants, so that remains unchanged.

Nerfs:
Starting 1 October 2024, UOB will no longer include Amaze transactions in its rewards program
UOB has always had an Amaze exclusion in its terms and conditions, but this exclusion was only applicable specifically on AMAZE*TRANSIT*. Starting 1 October 2024, however, the Amaze exclusion will be definite
Frequently Asked Questions:
- When are UNI$ credited:
- Base 1X UNI$: Credited when transactions post, usually within 1 – 3 working days
- Bonus 14X UNI$: Credited by end of the following calendar month
- When will my UNI$ expire: they expire 2 years after the final day of each periodic quarter in which they were earned
- How I got upgraded to the UOB Solitaire Card: What I did was I first got the UOB Lady’s Classic Card. Then I used it for about 2 months. And I decided that I’m going to try and apply for an upgrade for the Solitaire Card despite my income being WAY WAY below $120K. But I got approved! So yay! Don’t try, don’t know!
- SMS Application for Upgrade to UOB Solitaire Card: Send an SMS to 77672: UOB Lady’s Solitaire Card:<YesSolitaire>space<Last 4 digits of existing UOB Card>space<NRIC#>
- What is the difference between Transaction Date and Posting Date: The transaction date is the actual date you make a purchase or use your card, while the posting date is when the transaction is officially recorded by your bank and appears on your credit card statement, which may be a few days after the transaction. For instance, if you make a purchase with your UOB Lady’s on 30th March but the transaction posts on 1st of April, it will count towards April’s bonus cap, not March’s.
Final Thoughts:
- This is a great card if you know where to spend most of your money. Depending on your needs at the moment, you could take advantage on choosing your preferred category for the bonus rates per quarter. You can receive a travel card on one quarter and a beauty and wellness card on the next.
- The 4 miles per dollar is still quite good. Initially, i tried doing Transport Category, but i realised that my monthly transport spending could barely hit the $500 requirement for my UOB One Account. After I got the UOB Solitaire that gave me two categories, I chose Food & Transport, but I noticed that I was not getting miles for my spending at bakeries etc. Now my chosen category is actually Groceries and Shopping as Lazada and Taobao purchases are included in the merchant list. If I am unable to hit, i will resort to buying NTUC Vouchers on Lazada as a last resort. After about 10 months of use, I realised that I do not use the maximum spending of $3000 as my focus is to get the interest on UOB ONE savings first. I may downgrade back to a UOB Classic card with one category after the first year annual fee waiver ends.
Credit cards change their T&Cs every so often and it is difficult to stay updated. That’s why I created a Telegram Broadcast where you can receive timely bite-sized updates to get the most out of your spending.
