Citi PayAll:
- If you are wanting to use miles for business class flights, Citi PayAll could be a way to buy “Citi miles” when you pay for insurance, education, rent, utilities, mortgage, MCST fees etc., but it is subject to 2.2% service fee. It is not worth it during normal times, but when Citi PayAll has a promotion, it could be a time where we stock up on miles. Promotions are case-by-case basis and I will update it in my telegram channel when there is a good deal.
Category | Monthly Cap |
---|---|
Insurance | S$200,000 |
Education | S$100,000 |
Rent | S$30,000 |
Electricity Bills | S$30,000 |
Utilities | S$30,000 |
Citi Relationship Bonus
- With Citi, there is an additional relationship bonus that puts a multiplier to your earn rate when you hold a Citibank account.
Tenure with Citi Singapore | 0-5 years | 6-10 years | >10 years |
With Citigold / Citigold Private Client relationship | 15% | 20% | 30% |
Without Citigold / Citigold Private Client relationship | 5% | 10% | 15% |
- Assuming you’re a Citigold client who’s been banking with Citibank for 6 years, your Relationship Bonus rate will be set at 20%. This means that you’ll receive 20% bonus ThankYou Points based on your total card spend per year.
- For example, if you spend S$15,000 locally per year, you’ll earn 3,000 bonus Citi ThankYou Points (20% of S$15,000). Now, at an earn rate 3.25 ThankYou points per dollar for local spending, that’s 48,750 ThankYou Points (3.25 x S$15,000). In total, you would’ve accumulated 51,750 ThankYou Points on your Citi Prestige Card. Your effective miles earn rate would be 3.45 ThankYou Points per dollar, which is 1.38 miles per dollar. At the maximum of 30% relationship bonus, your effective miles earn rate would be 1.42 miles per dollar.

- ThankYou Points do not expire
- No maximum spending cap
- Can be a sustainable long-term miles card if you use the benefits significantly to offset the considerable amount of annual fee
- Has a wide array of perks and privileges
- High S$12,000 minimum spend for limo services to/from the airport
- Points does not pool with other Citi credit cards as well. (Pooling means that if you have points on another Citi credit card, you can consolidate them for you to redeem all the points). However, in this case, since it does not allow pooling, you’ll need to make 2 separate redemptions therefore paying 2 separate transfer fee as well.
- Has a higher annual income requirement than general entry level credit cards, may not be easy to get approved.
