  • Earn 1.4 miles per dollar for local spending
  • Earn up to 3 miles per dollar for overseas spending (including online shopping and overseas websites)
  • 3 miles per dollar on selected currencies:

    • Indonesian Rupiah

  • Complimentary Travel Insurance:
    • S$500,000 personal accident coverage for public transport
    • Up to S$50,000 emergency medical evacuation and repatriation, including coverage for COVID-19
  • One-way Airport Transfer Service for AMEX Version only
  • S$20 off Grab rides to/fro Changi Airport for Visa/Mastercard Version only

Best For Overseas Purchases with MYR, IDR, THB, VND:

  • This card now allows you to earn 3 miles per dollar on the above overseas purchases, with a foreign currency fee of 3.25%. This makes the cost 1.08 cents per mile. For return business class flight from Singapore to Christchurch, it will cost 137,000 miles on Singapore Airlines. This makes the two-way business class flight cost S$1,479.60, instead of the usual S$4-7K if paid by cash. However, this cost is comparable or higher than the cost of an economy flight paid by. cash. Therefore, when miles are acquired at a higher cost, it is worthwhile for business class and above mileage redemption.

Utilise Four Free Airport Lounge Passes Yearly:

  • With your UOB PRVI Card, you are entitled to four (4) complimentary lounge access at over 1,600 airport lounges worldwide per calendar year. This is better than other cards which only offer 2 complimentary lounge access. However, the 4 visits must be utilized by the principal cardholder only. Sharing with guests is not allowed. You can register for a Priority Pass via this link.

Utilise Two Complimentary Airport Limo Transfers (only for the AMEX version) Per Quarter:

  • As a Principal or Supplementary Cardmember, you can get up to two free one-way airport transfers to Singapore Changi Airport per quarter when you spend at least S$1,000 overseas on your UOB PRVI Miles AMEX Card.
    • How it works:
      • Book with Maxicab: Call +65 6651 2253 at least 2 days before your departure to book your transfer.
      • Pay with your card: Charge the transfer to your UOB PRVI Miles AMEX Card.
      • Get a rebate: You’ll receive a S$45 rebate for each transfer, up to a maximum of S$90 per quarter.

Important: The transfer and qualifying spend must occur in the same quarter. For example, you can take the transfer in January and meet the spending requirement by March 31st.

Note: The rebate will be credited to your card account at the end of the quarter.

      • Get a voucher: Receive a S$20 Grab voucher the following month via SMS.

“Buy” Miles For Business Class Flights with CardUp.co Payment:

  • You can pay your income tax when you pair UOB PRVI card with CardUp earning you 1.4 miles per dollar. See “Any Hacks/Promos” below.

Don’t Forget To Get Your Annual Fee Waiver on UOB App:

  • UOB often uses your UNI$ to automatically cover your annual card fee. As I discussed in my TikTok video about the UOB Lady’s card points, it’s important to check your rewards portal a month after your card anniversary. When your UNI$ are used for the annual fee and then refunded, your refunded UNI$ get a new expiration date, giving you a “extension” of sorts.

Pool Points Faster with other UOB cards:

  • To maximize your miles, consider using different UOB cards (except UOB Krisflyer) for various spendings, as all UNI$ points go into one pool. By having more UOB cards, you can earn miles more quickly especially on local transactions and potentially get you a business class flight.

CardUp
  • CardUp is another third-party site that lets you use your credit card to make numerous forms of payments with a service fee payment. This allows you to earn credit card rewards for payments made to normally excluded merchant category codes (MCC) like income tax and insurance. This is worthwhile if you are getting miles for business class flights.
  • UOB PRVI Miles can be used with CardUp since it has a 1.4 miles per dollar earn rate and have one of the lowest cost per mile entry level card.

Recent Buffs on UOB Cards:

  • Previously, UOB credit cards excluded UOB$ merchants from earning regular card rewards, meaning customers could only earn UOB$ (often lower value) instead of cashback or miles. However, effective 01 November 2024, UOB credit cardholders can now earn both UOB$ and their usual credit card rewards (like cashback or miles) when shopping at UOB$ merchants. UOB$ merchants are retailers that offer cashback (UOB$) to customers, which can be used on future purchases at the same store. With the new change, UOB cardholders can now stack both UOB$ and credit card rewards, making it more rewarding to shop at UOB$ merchants.
  • This change applies to UNI$-earning cards (like UOB Preferred Platinum Visa or UOB Lady’s card), and even UOB EVOL cards will earn their cashback on top of UOB$. The UOB One card already allowed rewards at UOB$ merchants, so that remains unchanged.

Check UOB$ Merchants here

If I have two registered UOB PRVI Miles Card, will I be entitled to eight (8) lounge visits: No, regardless if you have two registered UOB PRVI card, you are only entitled to four (4) visits per calendar year.
When do the UNI$ expire: UNI$ expire two (2) years after the last day of the quarter in which they were earned.

Final Thoughts:

  • The UOB PRVI Miles Card is a fantastic option if you travel frequently, spend a lot of money overseas, and can meet the minimum spending requirement to avoid the annual fee. It’s a useful tool for earning miles and exchanging them for flights or other travel-related rewards because of its high miles earn rate, significant welcome bonus, and travel-related perks.

Credit cards change their T&Cs every so often and it is difficult to stay updated. That’s why I created a Telegram Broadcast where you can receive timely bite-sized updates to get the most out of your spending.
