How a Kris+ Payment Reaches Your Card
A payment via Kris+ is registered as:
- an online transaction
- mobile wallet payment (so from the app, you will be led to pay via Apple Pay or Google Pay)
- processed with a merchant category code (MCC) based on the actual store (as if you paid in-person)
So, choosing a card that rewards Kris+ transactions, online spending, or that specific MCC is quite important.
Two things to note. Bank-issued American Express cards can’t be added to Apple Pay or Google Pay, so they can’t be used on Kris+ at all. And MCCs vary between merchants, so test with one small payment before you rely on a card for larger spend.

My Take
Below that S$1,000, DBS Woman’s World is the better pick until you hit the cap and it’s a good all-rounder online spending card that earns every retailer on Kris+. HSBC Revolution gives up to 8 mpd but only at dining and retail partners, but not all Kris+ retailers as it gives bonus on a fixed list of category codes.
KrisFlyer UOB is the clear winner once your Kris+ spend passes S$1,000 a month, because it is the only card here with no cap at all. The catch: Kris+ spend doesn’t count towards the S$1,000 of Singapore Airlines, Scoot and KrisShop spend that unlocks the card’s other bonus rates.
UOB Lady’s will only work on Kris+ dining or fashion category, depending on which category you choose for the quarter.
Citi Rewards does not earn on Kris+ on its own. In-app mobile payments sit on its exclusion list, so it drops to 0.4 mpd. To get 4 mpd you have to pair it with Amaze, and Amaze charges 1% or a minimum of S$0.50 per local transaction — so it isn’t worthwhile below about S$50 a transaction. OCBC Rewards works directly, but only at the retail partners: its bonus list has no dining category at all.

My Take
Every cashback card here carries a minimum spend, so these only work if the card is already your main card.
UOB EVOL and DCS Flex are the ones to use if it’s already your usual spending card and it is eligible for cashback for all Kris+ retailers.
Citi Cash Back is the simplest pick for dining via Kris+ at 6%, if you are already putting S$800 a month through it. OCBC 365 gives 5% and pairs with the OCBC 360 Account.
Maybank Family & Friends pays 6-8% and Kris+ has to fall inside one of the five categories you select.
