EXTENDED: 4 miles per dollar on Travel & Contactless Spend on HSBC Revolution Card

HSBC has just extended the HSBC Revolution card’s buff for even longer. What was initially announced as a limited-time bonus from 1 July to 31 October 2025 has now been extended until 28 February 2026, giving cardholders more time to maximize rewards.

The offer includes:

  • 4 miles per dollar on travel-related spend (airlines, hotels, car rentals) and eligible online/contactless payments
  • Higher monthly cap: S$1,500 eligible spend (up from S$1,000)
  • Posting deadline: Transactions must be posted by 28 February 2026 (not transaction date). Avoid last-minute bookings—travel charges often take 7–10 days to post.

Quick Recap:

1. Contactless Spending Bonus Extended

    • Apple Pay, Google Pay, and physical card taps will continue to earn 4 miles per dollar on eligible categories, including dining, retail, and transport/membership clubs. MCC 5814 (fast food/Grab dine out) remains excluded.

3. Higher Monthly Cap Remains

The boosted cap of S$1,500 eligible spend per month stays in place, giving more room for big-ticket purchases like flights and hotels.

Gentle Reminders:
  • Online Travel Agencies not eligible: Spend on Agoda, Klook, Airbnb, etc. will not earn bonus points. To qualify for 4 mpd, book flights directly on airline websites, or flights/hotels via Atome (on Agoda/Trip).
  • KrisFlyer transfers earn slightly less: When converting HSBC points to KrisFlyer, the effective earn rate is 3.33 mpd (due to the 5:2 transfer ratio). Transfers to partners like EVA Air and Flying Blue still give the full 4 mpd.
  • Dining MCC 5814 excluded: Transactions coded under MCC 5814 (fast food) do not earn bonuses. Many non–fast food eateries are also incorrectly tagged under 5814. To be safe, you can check the MCC via Heymax, or simply avoid using this card for dining spend.

How I’ve Been Using This Card:
  • For my upcoming trip, I actually booked a few hotels through Atome—not just for the 4 mpd, but also because it turned out to be the cheapest option (double win 😂).
  • I’ve set this card as my default payment on Shopback and Heymax, so I automatically stack rewards whenever I cash out or make payments.
  • I also link it as one of my payment options for ride-hailing apps and gym memberships, which consistently fall under eligible contactless/online spend.

As you can tell, I mainly use the Revolution card on transactions that continue to earn bonus points even after the promo buff ends—so it stays useful long term, not just during the extended promo.

Conclusion:

By extending the HSBC Revolution’s enhanced bonus until 28 February 2026, HSBC is now one of the strongest options for flights and hotels bookings. With 4 miles per dollar on direct travel bookings and eligible contactless categories, plus a raised monthly cap of S$1,500, it’s now easier to maximize rewards on larger purchases.

What began as a short-term promotion has turned into an extended window of opportunity. Whether you’re booking flights and hotels or tapping through Apple Pay and Google Pay, this offer gives you nearly eight more months to accumulate miles at an accelerated pace before it resets again.
