How To Clock S$8K Spending?
If you’re working towards the S$8,000 minimum spend for the AMEX welcome offer, the good news is that not all the usual exclusions apply. Specifically, transactions like hospital bills, education fees, and charitable donations are not on the exclusion list for AMEX cards enrolled in the Membership Rewards® Programme. This means such payments will count towards both the welcome bonus threshold and earn you 0.78 mpd—useful for transactions that typically don’t qualify for miles on other cards. That said, acceptance remains the key limitation, so do confirm the merchant takes AMEX before proceeding.
Alternative: CardUp or iPaymy
For payments that can’t be made directly via AMEX, platforms like CardUp and iPaymy are still viable. iPaymy currently offers a lower processing fee at 2.4%, but both platforms have new user promos you should leverage:
