Is the Citi Prestige Sign-Up Bonus Worth It?
Let’s break down the numbers. With the current promotion, new Citi Prestige cardholders can earn up to 65,000 Citi Miles. Here’s how the value stacks up:
Costs Involved:
- Annual Fee: S$651.82 (incl. GST)
- Qualifying Spend: S$2,000 within 2 months
Miles Earned:
- 80,000 ThankYou Points (32,000 Citi Miles) upon paying the annual fee
- 62,500 ThankYou Points (25,000 Citi Miles) when you meet the qualifying spend
- Total base bonus: 32,000 + 25,000 = 57,000 miles
- Extra for Citigold / Citigold Private Client: 8,000 miles → Total max bonus: 65,000 miles
Valuation (at 1.5 cents per mile):
- Base bonus: 57,000 × S$0.015 = S$855
- Gold bonus: 65,000 × S$0.015 = S$975
Net Value After Annual Fee:
- Base bonus: S$855 – S$651.82 ≈ S$203 net gain
- With Gold bonus: S$975 – S$651.82 ≈ S$323 net gain
Even if you’re not a Citigold client, the miles already cover the annual fee and give extra value.

- Use Cardup or iPayMy to pay for things like rent, helper’s salary, MCST, mortgage at a small fee
