From 15 October to 14 November 2025, your daily commute just got a little more rewarding. Simply tap in and out on public buses or trains with your eligible American Express® Card — or through your mobile wallet (Apple Pay, Google Pay, or Samsung Pay) — and get 50% (S$3) back for every S$6 spent, up to three times per card. If you have multiple American Express cards like me, you can register all the cards and get a total of S$9 cashback per card. For example, I have a total of 4 amex cards. Therefore, I will be able to get S$36 cashback from S$72 of this period’s public transport spending.
Promo Details:
- Earn 50% cashback (S$3) for every S$6 spent, capped at three times per card during the promo period
- Limited to the first 30,000 eligible cards successfully registered
- You can make payments using either your physical card or its digital version through Apple Pay, Google Pay, or Samsung Pay.
- Only direct transit fare payments in Singapore qualify (online or third-party transactions are excluded)
- Don’t forget to “Save the Offer” to your card through the AMEX App or website before you start tapping — the reward will be applied automatically when you meet the spend requirement
Tip: Always tap in and out using the same card or device. If you have multiple contactless cards in your wallet, make sure to select the right one to avoid a “Multiple Cards” error.
Eligibility:
- Open to holders of personal basic or supplementary AMEX Cards issued by American Express, DBS, or UOB (excluding corporate cards)
- Offer applies only to your targeted cards — If you have more than one AMEX card, you can make use of the offer separately on each eligible card. For any cards that don’t qualify, you’ll see an error message when you try to save the offer.
For example, I was able to successfully add this offer to both my Platinum Charge Card and my AMEX True Cashback Card.
Available on DBS and UOB Cards
This promotion isn’t exclusive to American Express-issued cards. Eligible AMEX Cards issued by DBS and UOB also qualify. If you have one, you can register and enjoy the same rewards through this link. Since I hold DBS yuu AMEX as well as UOB Absolute Amex, I am able to enrol both cards too.
Other cards that you can use includes: DBS Altitude Amex and UOB PRVI Miles Amex.
What’s even better — the cashback can be stacked with your existing credit card rewards, giving you more value from your daily commute. Since DBS yuu has now added SimplyGo as one of yuu merchants, technically, you will be stacking this promo on top of the 18% rebates or 10 miles per dollar that you are earning on the card, when you hit the minimum spend requirement for the month, making it the best card for this promotion.
Where can I use it?
- You can use your American Express contactless card under the SimplyGo system to pay for train and bus rides across Singapore, including basic and premium services (private buses excluded).
When will I receive my reward?
- Your S$3 statement credit should appear within 15 business days, but in some cases it may take up to 90 days after the offer ends.
How do I use my AMEX contactless card for transit?
- Your AMEX card works just like a travel card — simply tap in and out at the MRT gantry or bus reader with your contactless card.
Can I use my mobile wallet across devices?
- If you tap in using your phone, make sure to tap out using the same phone. The same applies to wearables — switching devices between tap-in and tap-out could cause the system to treat it as two separate trips.
Conclusion:
Commuting is something most of us do without thinking twice, so it’s nice when small perks like this make the routine feel a bit more worthwhile. If you already use your AMEX card or mobile wallet for daily rides, saving this offer is a simple way to get something back for what you’re already spending. Just be sure to tap in and out with the same card or device — and you’re good to go until 14 November 2025.
