UOB Bill & Tax Super Saver: Earn 6% Rebate on Your Income Tax & Insurance

UOB is giving 6% rebate on your bills (Income Tax, Insurance & More) — here’s what you need to know

Updated August 13, 2026

It’s tax season, and UOB has a promotion worth knowing about.

From 1 April 2026 to 31 March 2027, UOB account holders can earn a 6% rebate on selected bills paid via GIRO. This year’s promo is notably broader than last year — it’s no longer just income tax. Utilities, telco, and insurance are now included too.

What bills qualify?

Taxes: IRAS (income + property tax) and LTA (road tax)

Utilities: SP Services, Keppel Electric, Geneco, Pacific Light Energy

Telco: Singtel, Starhub, M1, Simba*

Insurance: Prudential

*On UOB’s own website, the information is inconsistent — Simba doesn’t appear everywhere. But if you dig further Simba Telecom is listed as an eligible telco biller.

How much can you earn?

It depends on how much you keep in your UOB account:

MAB
Monthly Cap
Sweet Spot Spend
≥S$30K
S$10
S$166.67
≥S$75K
S$25
S$416.67
≥S$150K
S$50
S$833.34

The rebate rate is 6% across all tiers.

For example, if you have $150,000 in your UOB One Account and pay your LTA road tax and income tax totalling $500 via GIRO, you’ll get $30 cash rebate that month. That works out to an additional 0.24% p.a. effective interest on your account.

At the highest tier of S$150,000 MAB and bill payment of S$833.34, you will earn the highest rebate of S$50 for 12 months is equivalent to S$600 a year just from bills you’re already paying.

Which accounts qualify?

UOB One, KrisFlyer UOB Account, UOB Lady’s Savings Account, and UOB Uniplus.

An interesting note is that UOB Stash is not included in this list.

How to get started:

Three things to do:

  1. Set up GIRO for your eligible bills under a qualifying UOB account (eGIRO is available so no paper forms)
  2. Register your mobile number for PayNow on UOB TMRW
  3. Activate Money Lock and lock at least S$1

Keep your PayNow and Money Lock active throughout the promotion period — if either lapses in any given month, you won’t receive the rebate for that month.
The good news? Both can be registered on any UOB account, not just the one your GIRO deduction comes from.

Worth it?

If you already have a good amount of S$150K sitting in a UOB account, this is genuinely a no-brainer. Redirect your GIRO arrangements, keep PayNow and Money Lock active, and the rebates come in automatically.

Also worth noting — this promo makes the most sense for people paying tax or Prudential insurance premiums via GIRO, where card rewards are harder to come by.

That said, insurance is only limited to Prudential — so if you’re with AIA, Great Eastern, Manulife or any other insurer, then it doesn’t apply to you.

For telco and utilities, you likely have other ways to earn card rewards on those bills already. So if you hit the rebate cap with your tax or insurance payments, don’t stress about optimising the telco and utilities portion too much.

Conclusion:

This promo basically rewards you for tax or Prudential insurance bills you’re already paying, with your UOB account. The setup takes less than 10 minutes, and once it’s done, the rebates come in on autopilot every month. If you’re already a UOB account holder, there’s really no reason to leave this on the table.
