The Standard Chartered Journey Card is a travel-oriented credit card designed to help you rack up points for future getaways. It offers attractive rewards for both local and overseas spending, with bonus points on everyday transactions and amplified earning on overseas purchases.

My thoughts: If you were going to apply for this card, you would probably get the better value from choosing the annual fee paying option as you would get extra 20,000 miles for S$196.20, making your cost per mile to be 0.9 cents per mile. Do take note of the minimum spend criteria of S$3000 within 2 months of card approval as well as spending on eligible transactions for your qualifying spend to maximise the sign up rewards.

When are 360 Rewards Points credited: The base 3x/5x 360° Rewards Points for local/overseas spend are credited when your transaction posts, which generally takes 1-3 working days. The bonus 4.5x 360° Rewards Points for local grocery, food delivery, and transport will be credited at the end of the statement period.

How long are 360 Rewards points valid for: There is no expiry

  • a. any cash advance;
  • b. any fees or charges (including but not limited to annual card fees, service fees, interest charges, cheque
  • processing fees, administrative fees, finance charges, and/or late payment charges and other
  • miscellaneous fees and charges);
  • c. any Credit Card Funds Transfer;
  • d. any monthly instalment of an EasyPay transaction;
  • e. any amount charged to your Simply Cash Card that is subsequently cancelled, voided, refunded or reversed;
  • f. recurring payments (being automatic payments where you (including your supplementary cardholder(s) on your Simply Cash Card account) have given a one-time authorisation or instruction for the merchant to charge the payment directly to your Simply Cash Card at a fixed interval, such as transactions made pursuant to Standard Chartered Bank (Singapore) Limited’s 0% Interest Instalment Plan) or payments made to all billing organisations using Standard Chartered Online Banking or mobile app;
  • g. AXS, SAM or ATM transactions made using your Simply Cash Card;
  • h. amounts which have been rolled over from any preceding month’s statement;

This card is perfect for those who spend a lot consistently on the bonus categories especially that they are considered everyday spends. As the points are non-expiring, you can take your time to earn the miles as you go.
