DBS yuu Card Overview:
- The DBS yuu card is a rewards card that lets you earn and redeem yuu points at over 1,000 places in Singapore. You can get up to 18% cash rebates or 10 miles per dollar (NEW!) on your online and offline spending at yuu merchants, such as 7-Eleven, Cold Storage, BreadTalk, Singtel, Gojek, and more. It is ideal for those who shop frequently at the above yuu merchants. You can also access exclusive deals, promotions, and benefits with the yuu app, which is linked to your card.
Eligibility & Fees:
- Minimum Age: 21 years old
- Minimum Annual Income: S$30,000 (locals/PRs); S$45,000 (foreigners)
- Annual Fee: S$196.20, first year waived
- Since minimum income requirement by MAS is S$30,000 per annum, this card is an entry-level card that should be pretty easy to get an annual fee waiver if you have some spending on this card. Most cards have a minimum spend requirement within a year to be eligible for a fee waiver. You can check out my TikTok video on getting annual fee waiver.
Key Benefits:
- Enjoy base award of 10 yuu points per dollar spent (equivalent to 5% rebates or 2.78 miles per dollar) at yuu merchants with no minimum spend and no cap
- Enjoy additional bonus award of 26 yuu points per dollar spent (equivalent to 13% rebates or 7.22 miles per dollar) at yuu merchants when you hit S$600 total qualified spend in a calendar month, capped at 15,600 points per calendar month. This means the spending cap for the bonus earn rate is at S$600. Beyond S$600, you will not earn additional 26 yuu points.
- Earn 1 yuu point per dollar spent (equivalent to 0.5% rebates or 0.28 miles per dollar) at all other non-yuu merchants.
- yuu Points awarded can only be tracked on yuu Rewards app
- AMEX version offers special discounts like 30% off hotel reservations, free trials on PressReader, and 15% off Bloomingdale’s.
To make it simple for you, here is how it looks like:
Earn Rate | Cashback | Miles | Yuu
yuu merchants | 10pts/S$1 | 5% | 2.78 miles per dollar | No min spend or cap |
26pts/S$1 | 13% | 7.22 miles per dollar | Min. S$600 spend per calendar month (S$600 spend cap)
non-yuu merchants | 1pt/S$1 | 0.5% | 0.28 miles per dollar | No min spend or cap |
New: You can now convert yuu Points to Miles!
DBS yuu cardholders now have the flexibility to convert their yuu points into KrisFlyer miles. This offers several advantages:
- No Conversion Fees: Unlike most miles credit cards, there’s no fee for transferring points.
- Instant Conversions: Transfers are processed immediately.
- Low Minimum Conversion: You can start converting as few as 200 points (55 miles), afterwhich in blocks of 1 mile.
- No Annual Cap: There’s no limit to the amount you can convert.
While the ability to convert yuu points to KrisFlyer miles offers flexibility, it’s important to consider the cost. At 1.5 cents per mile, the conversion rate may not be ideal for everyone.
Consider this option only if:
- You have excess yuu points: If you can’t find other valuable uses for your yuu points, converting them might be worthwhile.
- You’re aiming for business class: Converting to miles is only beneficial for business cabin redemptions and above.
- You’re a regular yuu merchant shopper: Meeting the minimum spend monthly is essential.
- You need miles urgently: If you have an immediate need for KrisFlyer miles to top up for a flight redemption, this could be a viable option.

Is it Worth it:
- Although you accrue the same number of points with both the DBS yuu Visa Card and the AMEX Card, the AMEX version offers special discounts
- Highest cash rebates in the market
- Able to exchange points to miles (NEW!)
- yuu merchants like Cold Storage generally have higher mark ups for their products, so the cash rebates may be offset by the high mark ups.
- Restricted to Yuu merchants and may not be useful for those who do not spend at Yuu merchants with at least S$600 spending per month
- Points must be converted into cash rebates or miles, but to use the rebates, you need to spend at the participating merchants where you can offset your next purchase. This approach may be less beneficial if you don’t shop at these specific yuu merchants, don’t fly on Singapore Airlines and simply prefer cashback directly on your credit card bill.
Past Buffs/Nerfs:
With effect from 27 October 2024, yuu Points will no longer be awarded at all Food Republic and Food Junction outlets.
Frequently Asked Questions:
- When are the yuu Points credited: Base Award will be credited to qualifying cardmembers’ linked yuu Account within 14 days from the date the transaction is posted. The Bonus Award will be credited to qualifying cardmembers’ linked yuu Account within 60 days after the end of each calendar month.
- How long are the yuu points valid for: Points earned in this card expires in 2 years
- How do I earn yuu points: You can scan your yuu ID to be scanned by QR code or barcode on the yuu app when shopping on merchants. Or you can pay with your DBS yuu card for more rewards
- How to redeem miles: You can redeem miles through the yuu App. Just log in, go to ‘Me’, and select ‘Transfer to Krisflyer’ to instantly convert your yuu Points into miles.
- How to redeem cash rebates: Redeem your yuu Points instantly to offset purchases at popular merchants like Cold Storage, Giant, Guardian, 7-Eleven, and foodpanda.
Final Thoughts:
- For anyone who shop regularly with a minimum spend of S$600 a month at Yuu merchants must get this card to take advantage of the 18% rebates.
