UOB Krisflyer Card Overview:
The UOB KrisFlyer credit card is a travel credit card that lets you earn and redeem miles directly with Singapore Airlines and Scoot with no transfer fee. You can earn up to 3 KrisFlyer miles per dollar spent on Singapore Airlines Group (SIA) and Kris+. You can also earn 3 Krisflyer miles per dollar on select categories with a minimum S$800 spend per card membership year on SIA Group-related transactions.

Eligibility & Fees:
- Minimum Age: 21 years old
- Minimum Annual Income: S$30,000 (locals/PRs); S$40,000 (foreigners)
- Annual Fee: S$194.40 (incl. GST), waived for first year

- Earn 3 miles per dollar on SIA-related spend—Singapore Airlines, Scoot, KrisShop, and Kris+ transactions
- Earn up to 3 miles per dollar on Dining, Online Shopping, Online Travel, and Transport when you spend S$800 on SIA related spends in a card membership year.
- Earn 1.2 miles per dollar on all other purchases
- Since points are earned for every S$5 spent, a $4.99 purchase will not earn you any points.
- Up to S$500,000 worth of complimentary travel insurance
- Earn extra KrisFlyer miles for every S$1 spent when you open a KrisFlyer UOB Account. The total bonus miles are limited to 5% of your monthly average balance. But personally, I don’t think it’s worthwhile.

- You can earn 3 Krisflyer miles per dollar (in a calendar month) with no minimum spend and no cap for these transactions. This applies to both online and offline spending, in SGD or foreign currency. SIA Transactions are defined as:
- Singapore Airlines
- Scoot
- KrisShop
- No transfer fee on miles because they’re already KrisFlyer miles. Base KrisFlyer miles will be credited directly to your KrisFlyer membership account each month. The Bonus KrisFlyer miles will be credited to your account only after you pay the KrisFlyer UOB Card’s annual fee of S$194.40. Following that, you can expect to receive the bonus miles within two months of the payment. Basically, there’ll be a 14-month delay before your bonus miles can reach your account.

- If you spend at least S$800 on SIA Group-related transactions to your card in a card membership year, you can also earn 3 Krisflyer miles per dollar (composed of bonus 1.8 miles per dollar on top of the 1.2 miles per dollar base rate) on these transactions:

- With a KrisFlyer UOB account, you can receive up to 6 bonus miles per dollar
- Miles are only transferrable to one transfer partner since it is a co-branded card.
- The minimum yearly spend of S$800 may be difficult to hit
- Miles may take up to 14 months to arrive – therefore you should take note of this if you wish to cancel your card
Nerfs:
Starting 1 October 2024, UOB will no longer include Amaze transactions in its rewards program— will no longer earn krisflyer miles

UOB has always had an Amaze exclusion in its terms and conditions, but this exclusion was only applicable specifically on AMAZE*TRANSIT*. Starting 1 October 2024, however, the Amaze exclusion will be definite.
- Is there a transfer fee: There’s no transfer fee for miles since they’re already KrisFlyer miles.
- When will I receive my miles: Base KrisFlyer miles are credited to your KrisFlyer account each month. Bonus KrisFlyer miles will be credited after you pay the KrisFlyer UOB Card’s annual fee of S$194.40. You’ll receive the bonus miles within two months of the payment, so expect a 14-month delay before your bonus miles appear in your account.

Final Thoughts:
If you frequently travel with Singapore Airlines and you have a substantial amount of spending in the 3 miles per dollar category, you might consider applying for this credit card.
