Overview:
This guide will show you the best credit cards for grocery shopping, depending on where you shop and how much you spend.
Here’s what we’ll cover:
- Best Credit Cards for Grocery Shopping at General Grocery Stores
- Best Credit Cards for Grocery Shopping at DFI GROUP (Giant, Cold Storage)
- Best Credit Cards for Grocery Shopping at Sheng Siong
- Best Credit Cards for Grocery Shopping at NTUC Fairprice
Best Credit Cards for Grocery Shopping at General Grocery Stores:

Maybank Family & Friends Card
Earn 8% cashback for five of your chosen categories.

Citi Cashback Card
Earn 8% cashback on petrol & ride-hailing services and 6% cashback on groceries & dining

CIMB VIsa Signature Card
Earn 10% cashback on online shopping, groceries, beauty/wellness, pet shops/veterinary services and cruises

Citi Rewards Card
Earn 4 miles per dollar on online spend and selected retail

UOB Lady's Card
Earn 4 miles per dollar on 1 or 2 chosen categories
My Take:
I prefer an overall grocery category-based card because it gives you a lot more freedom on choice of store. However, if you just shop at one grocery outlet, you can consider the cards below to see if it suits your lifestyle better.
Now let’s look at the individual groceries stores:
Best Credit Cards for Grocery Shopping at DFI GROUP (Giant, Cold Storage):

DBS Yuu Card
Earn up to 17.5% cash rebate or 10 miles per dollar at Yuu merchants

Citi Rewards Card
Earn 4 miles per dollar on online spend and selected retail

UOB Lady's Card
Earn 4 miles per dollar on 1 or 2 chosen categories
My Take:
The DBS Yuu is the only card you should really consider if they spend regularly at DFI Group (Giant or Cold Storage etc). It beats the 4 miles per dollar cards any time. However, if you are looking for a no minimum spend option, then Citi Rewards + Amaze would be better for you.
Best Credit Cards for Grocery Shopping at Sheng Siong:

Maybank Family & Friends Card
Earn 8% cashback for five of your chosen categories.

Citi Cashback Card
Earn 8% cashback on petrol & ride-hailing services and 6% cashback on groceries & dining

POSB Everyday Card
Earn up to 10% cash rebates on selected categories on local spend

Citi Rewards Card
Earn 4 miles per dollar on online spend and selected retail

UOB Lady's Card
Earn 4 miles per dollar on 1 or 2 chosen categories
Depending on your grocery spending, you can choose any of these cards. Below S$312.50 on groceries, use Maybank Family & Friends Card. Between S$312.50 to S$750, use BOC Sheng Siong. Between S$750 – S$1,333, use Citi Cashback card.
Best Credit Cards for Grocery Shopping at NTUC Fairprice:

CIMB VIsa Signature Card
Earn 10% cashback on online shopping, groceries, beauty/wellness, pet shops/veterinary services and cruises

Citi Cashback Card
Earn 8% cashback on petrol & ride-hailing services and 6% cashback on groceries & dining

Maybank Family & Friends Card
Earn 8% cashback for five of your chosen categories.

UOB Lady's Card
Earn 4 miles per dollar on 1 or 2 chosen categories

Citi Rewards Card
Earn 4 miles per dollar on online spend and selected retail
My Take:
Trust Link Credit card requires you to spend S$350 outside of FairPrice Group to qualify for 15.5% rebate if you were a union member. But if I factor in the extra spending of S$350, the total rebate is around 9.11% for union members.
The rebate will be less with a higher minimum spend requirement of S$450 outside of FairPrice Group for non-union members. But it is still the highest cashback card for NTUC shoppers.
Conclusion:
While miles credit cards give an easy 4 miles per dollar with no minimum spend, cashback credit cards give the highest amount of rewards if you are able to hit the minimum monthly spend required. Choosing the right credit card for you when it comes to grocery shopping really depends on your lifestyle and the convenience and proximity of the above mentioned grocery outlet to your home. I reckon cashback cards are suitable for those who have higher monthly grocery expenditure (e.g. Home-based food business or feeding a large family) or able to hit minimum monthly spending required. On the other hand, miles cards are suitable for those who don’t want a minimum spending on their grocery spending.
